Autobiografija (Benjamin Franklin)

Autobiografija (Benjamin Franklin)

Benjamin Franklin

An incredible book about an incredible man who played more than ten prominent roles in his life.

A total man - who showed us by his work how by working honorably, persistently, diligently and constantly learning, he can do a lot, help both society and himself. A happy, successful man – Franklin! If only we had more "Franklins" among us today! So at some point in his life, Franklin sat down and wrote down thirteen virtues and instructions that he should follow, especially those that he had not paid attention to until then. These are: moderation (do not eat until you become numb; do not drink until you are drunk), silence (say only what can benefit others or yourself; avoid trivial conversations), order (assign each thing its place; assign each part of your work its time ), decision (decide to do what you need to do; unfailingly do what you decided), thrift (do not spend on anything, except on what benefits others or yourself, i.e. do not waste anything), diligence (do not waste time; be always busy with something useful; stop all unnecessary activities), honesty (do not use lies; think honestly and justly, and if you speak, speak likewise), justice (do not wrong anyone, nor give in to charity, which is your duty), purity (does not suffer any impurity in body, clothing or dwelling), tranquility (does not get upset over trifles or ordinary or unavoidable events), virtue (rarely general sexually, except when it concerns health or offspring, but never to the point of satiety and exhaustion, or to harm your own, or someone else's peace or reputation), and finally humility (look at Jesus and Socrates).
