The narrator in the first person and also the main character, Dražen Lasta, a hypersensitive intellectual, narrates the history of his family and his unhappy love. The scene of the action is the Bosnian town of Travnik, and in addition to the psychological, social motivation is involved, and the war atmosphere is introduced as an important element of the narrative scenography.
