Glad

Glad

Josip Cvenić

This novel by Josip Cvenić thematizes contemporary urban reality, and has the courage to de-taboo a taboo topic (the topic of pedophilia) and give it literary legitimacy.

The pedophilic urge of the main character, photographer Zvonko, is merely his wish, which never truly comes true, and he is skillfully cured of this illness by his frustrated wife Zlata, who also has serious problems with her own weight and the unfortunate realization that her marriage is in crisis, because her husband systematically neglects his marital and other obligations. The hero's pedophilic urge remains only a hidden desire, which mostly ends in attempts to record it with his camera.
