Zeleno busenje
Edhem Mulabdić's novel Green Sward depicts a period in Bosnian history during the transition from patriarchal to modern forms of life. It is a time of change of power, when the Ottoman Empire replaced the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The main character of the novel is a young man named Ahmed, who grows up in a traditional Muslim family. His life and the fate of other characters depict the great social and political changes that have taken place in Bosnia since the arrival of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The population is divided between the desire to preserve old customs and the need to adapt to the new times.
