These are authentic, detailed recollections from inside the international communist movement. Humbert-Droz writes candidly about his ideological evolution, internal conflicts, underground work, and the early years of the Comintern. The book is a valuable source for studying the early history of the communist movement in Europe, especially the Romance countries and Switzerland.
