The Monkees – Daydream Believer / Goin' Down, an original 1967 Italian 7" release on RCA Victor (catalog number 45 N 1535). This is a particularly attractive copy, featuring the original Italian picture sleeve with a striking psychedelic design, and boasting vinyl and a cover in exceptional, Near Mint (NM) condition.
"Daydream Believer"—a John Stewart composition featuring Davy Jones's distinctive vocals—is one of The Monkees' most famous songs. Its blend of an elegant piano intro, a lush pop arrangement, and an unforgettable chorus propelled it to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it remained for four weeks.
The B-side features the excellent "Goin' Down," which offers a complete shift in mood: a fast-paced, rhythmically intense jazz-rock track driven by Micky Dolenz's frenetic vocals. The song was co-written by all four Monkees along with Diane Hildebrand and was produced by Chip Douglas.
This Italian edition stands out thanks to its original picture sleeve featuring a psychedelic illustration of the group, making it visually and from a collector's standpoint more appealing than many standard international releases.
