Družba Isusova (1969.) Jiříja Šotole, prvijenac češkog pjesnika, povijesni je roman smješten u doba protureformacije, koji suptilno aludira na suvremene prilike u Čehoslovačkoj pod komunizmom.

Radnja prati patra Vojtěcha Hada i groficu Mariju Maksimilijanu, čije se sudbine isprepliću u sukobu između pojedinca i moćnog katoličkog reda isusovaca. Roman istražuje teme poslušnosti, ideološkog ugnjetavanja i gubitka duhovne i ljudske slobode. Vojtěch Had, isusovački svećenik, suočen je s unutarnjim sukobom između svoje savjesti i strogih pravila reda, gdje je poslušnost najviša vrijednost. Grofica Marija Maksimilijana, strastvena i buntovna, upada u sukob s crkvenom hijerarhijom, što vodi njezinoj duhovnoj i fizičkoj propasti. Njihovi putovi vode prema tragičnom kraju, gdje ideologija guši ljudskost, ostavljajući ih kao "prazne tělesne schránky". Roman je mračan, s teškom atmosferom, ali i slojevitom naracijom i dijalozima koji naglašavaju moralne dileme. Šotola majstorski koristi povijesni kontekst za kritiku totalitarnih sistema, čineći roman univerzalnim. Hrvatski kritičar Ljudevit Bauer usporedio ga je s romanom Derviš i smrt Meše Selimovića zbog sličnih tema sukoba pojedinca i sustava. Objavljen 1975. u Hrvatskoj, roman je dobio pohvale kritike i ekraniziran je 2004. u režiji Silvija Petranovića.
