Jakov Ivaštinović (1919–1994) was a Croatian writer. His work includes poems, reviews, travelogues and short stories. Traces is a book that was published posthumously and represents a selection from his entire oeuvre. Ivaštinović had a Catholic worldview and a patriotic orientation. In his works, he often connects the identity of space with personal identity and deals with social topics with an emphasis on the phenomenon of the subconscious.
