20 000 milja ispod mora

20 000 milja ispod mora

Jules Verne

"20,000 miles under the sea" is one of Jules Verne's most famous novels and one of the most significant novels for children and young people in world literature.

The novel tells about the journey of the submarine Nautilus, seen from the perspective of Professor Pierre Aronnax, who as a marine biologist found himself on board. The submarine is piloted by the peculiar Captain Nemo and today a symbol of the sea captain, inventor and explorer. Together, they embark on an expedition in search of an unknown creature that sows fear among sailors and people on the shore. The Nautilus travels through the world's underseas, encountering various, often unusual, sea animals and nemanas along the way, and running into dangers from which they must escape with their ingenuity and courage. In doing so, they use some then-nonexistent inventions, which inspired the further development of technology, which confirmed Jules Verne as one of the greatest technological visionaries among the writers of his time.
