Priča o karmi

Priča o karmi

B. D. Benedict

A Story of Karma is one of the most famous and best-selling novels by Božidar D. Benedikt, a pioneer of the “religious thriller.” The book is still considered Benedikt's most influential work – a cross between Dan Brown and Carlos Castaneda.

The plot follows a young Belgrade journalist Marko who, after a serious car accident, begins to experience intense visions of his past lives – from ancient Egypt, through Inquisitional Spain and World War II to the present day.

In each life, the same people (mother, friend, lover, enemy) repeat themselves, but in different roles. Marko realizes that all his current problems, fears and illnesses are the result of unresolved debts from the past. Karmic “bill collectors” (invisible forces) force him to face them, and the only way out is forgiveness and change.

Benedict skillfully mixes a tense thriller (chase, murders, secret organizations that want to stop Marko’s awakening) with deep spiritual teachings about the law of karma, reincarnation and free will. The novel is full of dramatic scenes of “regression” into past lives, filmed as if you were watching a movie. It ends with a spectacular enlightenment and the announcement of the imminent return of the Savior.
