Gospodin Theodor Mundstock
Ladislav Fuks, Czech writer (Prague, 24 September 1923 – Prague, 19 August 1994). He became famous for his novel Mr. Theodor Mundstock (1963).
He confirmed his reputation as one of the best contemporary Czech storytellers with his short stories (My Black-Haired Brothers; The Corpse Burner, which was made into a film) and novels (Variation for a Dark String; The Road to the Promised Land), in which he subtly describes the phenomenon of evil and its manifestations with refined expression, and the central theme of his oeuvre is the difficult fate of Czech Jews.
