Po volji pobednika, poraženi neprijatelj mora da se vrati iz ruševina svojih gradova i proizvodnje na polja cvekle i ovčije pašnjake nekog prošlog veka. Tri muškarca se sastaju u Muru, pustoj pustinji u senci visokih planina. Ambras, kralj pasa i bivši zatvorenik, godinama nakon puštanja na slobodu postaće upravnik kamenoloma u kojem je stradao kao zatvorenik.
