Povratak u gradić Peyton

Povratak u gradić Peyton

Grace Metalious

In many of its features and characteristics, Gradić Peyton with Return to Gradić Peyton resembles and is a counterpart to the Klošmer trilogy by the French writer Gabriel Chevalier.

Grace Metalious is not a professional writer. When she wrote her chronicle of Peyton, she was a housewife, thirty-two years old, a mother of three, and the divorced wife of a schoolteacher. After the publication of these works, she was exiled from her hometown, her divorced husband was fired from his job, and other discriminatory measures were taken. She went to New York, where she died in late 1968.
