Tales and Stories (1875) is a collection of prose texts by Stjepan Mitrov Ljubiša, one of the most important 19th-century Serbian writers from the Bay of Kotor. The book contains Tales by Vuk Dojčević and Tales from Montenegro and the Coast.
The Panchatantra was conceived as a kind of manual for rulers, in which popular wisdom is combined with philosophy, psychology and politics, and all of this is presented in a simple and elegant style of superior literature.
The story was published by Mijat Stojanović in his book Folk Tales and Poems, published in 1867. Along with it, Stojanović noted: "In Samac from the merchant Marko from Kobaš, grad. krajina year 1835."
