Tim Kearney is a regular loser. He was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison after killing a member of the notorious Hell's Angels in self-defense. Given that the Hell's Angels practice the principle of 'an eye for an eye', and there is no shortage of them in prisons, Kearney could easily have been sentenced to the death penalty.
His only advantage in life is his uncanny physical resemblance to Bobby Z. A celebrated California drug dealer who has not been seen in public for years. A similarity that will not escape the watchful eye of agent Tad Gruzs, a member of the DEA. Intending to break him out of prison and pose as Bobby Z in a hostage-swapping operation with Mexican drug kingpin Don Huerter to free a fellow prisoner, the DEA will be quite upset when the operation backfires. The first thing that fake Bobby Z will then realize is that the character he so successfully embodied has many more enemies than himself. Enemies to whom Hell's Angels are a mother's pet.
