Priča ima mnogo romantičnih, ali i baladičnih epizoda. Roman je pun dijaloga, čudesnih događaja, crnog humora i živih istina, primamljivo je i sočno štivo. Prevodioci su sva imena u romanu preveli na hrvatski jezik, što će čitaocu još više približiti svet starosedelaca i zabačenih krajeva Kanade.
