It is strange that the most important things in our life are often so obvious that we are not aware of their occurrence at all or barely notice them. Such is the case with our daily activities of cooking and eating.

Cooking is the art of creating life itself. It is the source of all our happiness and unhappiness, success and defeat, health and illness, longevity or premature death. The quality of our diet determines whether we will spend our lives in constant health and development or in gradual decline and decay. Cooking is so important that every person, both men and women, should have a good practical knowledge of choosing basic daily meals. Cooking training should begin in the parent's home as soon as the child is old enough to speak and should continue throughout life. Proper cooking is essential to every aspect of our lives and our future, but few schools, primary, secondary or higher, have the basics of cooking in their curriculum.
