Izgubljena bitka Josifa Visarionoviča Staljina

Izgubljena bitka Josifa Visarionoviča Staljina

Vladimir Dedijer

The book "The Lost Battle of Josif Visarionovich Stalin", by Vladimir Dedier, deals with a key period in Stalin's life, focusing on his last years, especially from 1948 to his death in 1953.

Known for his documentary precision, Dedijer uses a variety of sources, including Soviet documents, diplomatic reports and personal testimony, to reconstruct Stalin's complex relationship with the West and within the Soviet Union.

The book also deals with the development of Cold War tensions, Stalin's conflicts with Tito and Yugoslavia, and his internal confrontations in the Soviet Union, which resulted in purges and persecution of real and imaginary enemies. Dedijer also analyzes Stalin's role in the Korean War, and how his actions weakened the position of the Soviet Union in the international arena.

Stalin's doubts, paranoia and fear of betrayal are dominant themes in the book, and Dedijer shows how this paranoia led to his estrangement from his closest collaborators and, ultimately, his physical and political downfall. This work offers a critical look at Stalin's policies and management methods, and presents a complex portrait of one of the most influential and infamous leaders of the 20th century.
