Rosa Larkin is convinced that she has been plagued by bad luck for as long as she can remember. Her life in London is a disaster, she lives as a lodger with handsome Josh, a successful banker and passionate rugby player who has tender feelings for her, and she survives from month to month. When in the picturesque town of Cockleberry Bay in Devon, she inherits a shop that has been empty for years. The small shop in Cockleberry Bay – Rosa’s first thought is to sell it and get her life in order. Unfortunately for her, however, a mysterious benefactor has set an important condition for her: she cannot sell the shop, she can only leave it to someone who truly deserves it.

Knowing that she has nothing to lose, Rosa decides to restart the business and restore the shop to its former glory. She leaves London with her little dachshund Hot and a few thousand pounds she has inherited and arrives in Cockleberry Bay, among the curious locals…
