Čovjek kao voljeno biće

Čovjek kao voljeno biće

Josip Baloban

Every person, when thinking about themselves, asks themselves whether and to what extent they are accepted and loved as a person: in their family, among their peers, colleagues, in the community in which they have chosen to live.

The sentence "Man is born to love and to be loved" will sound like an ordinary phrase to any man who has not felt that he is a gift and a blessing to some people, but also that some other people are a gift and an encouragement to him that he so often does not deserve. Thus the same person is at the same time the giver and the recipient of love. It can happen, and what often happens, that a man at some period of his life is very stingy in giving love to other people, while at the same time he receives signs of love from other people and enjoys that love in his own way. It also happens that someone is loved by someone for whom he does not care and for whom he does not care at all. There are so many parents and many other people, both married and unmarried, whose love has not been responded to with love, but, on the contrary, with indifference! From his conception and birth until his death, man is the recipient and object of someone's love. But he is not immediately the giver of love. She is, admittedly, stored in him, but becomes noticeable only when she gives her mother the first smile, the first signs of communication, which lighten up the parent's face and fill it with joy. Only then is the child the recipient and giver of love.
