Noćna straža

Noćna straža

Darko Cvijetić

When Darko Cvijetić writes, it's as if he's displacing people and their stories from this language to another language, and that's how he arranges them before the face of God.

His stories/poems are like boxes filled with cotton wool - so the blades of the knives we stab ourselves with hurt less. In Darko Cvijetić's literature, people seem to be immortal, they kill each other over and over again - so the murdered embrace each other, wipe the blood from each other's faces, blow into their wounds and sit together waiting for them to heal. And then they make them again - for each other. Victims and criminals - in Darko Cvijetić's poems - secretly love each other. I don't know how much of these are fairy tales and how much are real stories - but I do know that Darko Cvijetić is a brilliant poet, playful in a language that is only his. Almin Kaplan
