U svojoj analizi "Maja '68." autor želi vratiti društveno-revolucionarno, klasno značenje tom povijesnom događaju koji se u međuvremenu najčešće svodio na čisto kulturnu dimenziju. Ono najvažnije u Maju '68. jest kritika svih oblika hijerarhije, u svim područjima, od individualnih odnosa do profesionalnih aktivnosti ili organiziranja dokolice. Odjednom je bilo moguće sve reći, sve staviti u pitanje. Nije se poljuljala politička nadstruktura, nego sam temelj društvenog poretka, autoritet – onaj nastavnika, roditelja, malih i prosječnih šefova, morala itd., dovedeno je u pitanje samo funkcioniranje društva.
