Katastrofa se izbjegla zajedničkim naporima posade "Apolla 13" i osoblja u kontroli leta, te mnogobrojnih stručnjaka u različitim industrijama i ustanovama širom SAD-a, koji su kroz četiri nezaboravna dana uspjeli svladati opasnu situaciju, koja je završila spašavanjem trojice astronauta."
