Moja školska Biblija

Moja školska Biblija

Renate Günzel-Horatz

We believe that many parents would like their child to have, among their many school books, one spiritual, generally respected and cherished book that would stay with them, in one form or another.

What book is more suitable for this than the Bible? The editor of the text has made an effort to create an adapted version of the Bible for children from the first to the sixth grade of elementary school. Each of the books of the Old and New Testaments has its place in this work, but their text is so adapted to the elementary school child that it neither harms the biblical text in terms of the essence of the biblical message nor requires the young reader to read the entire Bible literally. Namely, the biblical books are represented by several interesting stories told in modern language and accompanied by illustrations that sometimes connect the motifs mentioned in the text with the motifs of the contemporary life of today's reader. Each important term or name mentioned in the text finds its interpretation of a few sentences at the end of the book, along with a geographical map of the Middle East, a map of Israel in the time of Jesus, and an index of biblical texts.
