At the same time, elements of everyday life are emphasized: housing, nutrition, clothing, and social customs.
The second part of the book is dedicated to The Romans, starting from the kingdom and early republicanism to the imperial era. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of patrician-plebeian relations, constitutional changes, magistracies, the senate, the popular assemblies, and the transformation of the Roman state order. Roman religion, family life, the military system, administration, and the spread of Roman influence that shaped later European culture are also covered.
Musić's approach is a combination of historical overview and cultural compendium, designed to provide the reader with a clear picture of the major institutions of antiquity, but also a broader cultural context that explains the lasting influence of the Greco-Roman heritage.
