Filozofija istočnih naroda 1

Filozofija istočnih naroda 1

Čedomil Veljačić

Indian Philosophy and Selected Texts

The book deals with the oldest Indian scriptures, the Vedas and the Upanishads, in which ideas about the connection between man and the universe are developed. Veljačić explains the concepts of Brahman as a universal principle and Atman as man's inner essence. A special place is occupied by Buddhism and the Buddha's teachings on suffering, its causes and the path to liberation. The author describes how Buddhism emphasizes morality, discipline and inner peace. The book also presents various Hindu philosophical schools such as Yoga, Vedanta and Sankhya. All of them try to answer questions about the meaning of life, the nature of the world and human consciousness. Veljačić writes clearly and understandably and connects Eastern philosophy with Western thinking. The work helps the reader understand the spiritual tradition of the East and its influence on human culture and philosophy.
