A Little Before Everything, Long Ago We Are is the eleventh collection of poetry by Goran Rem (b. 1958, Osijek), a poet, essayist, literary historian, and member of the Quorum generation in Croatian literature.
The book is designed as a series of "islands" - individual poems that function independently, but complement each other, forming a thematic whole.
Fra Martin respected the old literary custom of writing Commemorative Works on the occasion of important historical events or of honoring important people who were respected in the society of the time with Honorary Works.
The main motifs of the collection are love and everyday life, followed by poetry, and a subtle homage to Zagreb.
Naslovna pesma, „Crni zec“, predstavlja svojevrsni simbolistički manevar unutar „prave“ poezije, jer poput Bodlerovog „Albatrosa“, poseduje izražen nedvosmislen naboj.
U svojim najboljim pesmama, Stojić vešto prepliće poeziju i jedinstven angažman.
