Detectives are often amateurs or police officers who work "on paper", and the solution comes from an unexpected angle.
The collection is typical of Pavličić's "Zagreb cycle" – crime novels are intellectual, without violence and blood, with an emphasis on logic, motives and social contradictions. Ideal for a quick read – each story ends in 20–30 pages, with a twist that makes you smile or think.
