Sveti Rikard Pampuri: život, čudesa, štovanje
A biographical account of the life, charitable works, and miracles of the Italian physician and religious brother Saint Riccardo Pampuri—patron saint of the sick and a model of selfless service to one's neighbor.
The book Saint Riccardo Pampuri: Life, Miracles, and Veneration, by Filippo Cavazza, offers an inspiring biographical and spiritual account of the life of Erminio Filippo Pampuri (1897–1930)—an Italian physician and member of the Order of Saint John of God (Fatebenefratelli), who was canonized in 1989. In this work, the author provides a comprehensive portrait of an extraordinary man who dedicated his brief earthly life to integrating top-tier medical care with a profound Christian faith. Through various thematic sections, the book traces his life’s journey—from the early loss of his parents and his upbringing, through his service in the military medical corps during the First World War, to his graduation from medical school with top honors. It highlights his work as a devoted rural physician who provided free medical care to the poorest, as well as his subsequent entry into a religious order, where he continued to serve the sick with deep humility and love. A significant portion of the book is dedicated to answered prayers, healings, and documented miracles attributed to his intercession, as well as the growth of his veneration worldwide. This book serves as a powerful testament to holiness found within daily work, offering invaluable inspiration to healthcare professionals and the faithful alike.
