This is the best and most complete history of Serbian philosophy to date. It covers the period from the literacy of Serbs in the Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century. Compared to previous syntheses by Dragan Jeremić (1967/68) and Andrija Stojković (1970/1972), this book brings many novelties. Based on decades of studying Serbian philosophy, the author has advanced in his knowledge of many previously unknown or little-known segments of the history of Serbian thought. This applies in particular to the Middle Ages, then to the dark period of slavery under the Turks until the mid-19th century. He also dared, despite the lack of temporal distance, to offer an overview of philosophical movements in Serbia in the last decades of the 20th century, which has already provoked polemical articles in the press. This book provides a reliable overview of Serbian philosophy and will be an indispensable starting point for all future observations of it.
