125 opera

125 opera

Nenad Turkalj

125 operas is an expanded edition of the author's first book, One Hundred Operas.

This book is not a history of opera, but a guide through opera works of the world and domestic, classical and contemporary repertoire, which the audience often encounters in the theater, in radio broadcasts or watches on the small, and lately also on the big screen - i.e. works that, due to their value and relevance, deserve to be the reader should be warned about them. Useful literature for a narrow circle of professionals, as well as for a wider readership, and especially valuable for teachers of musical culture and art, since the content of 125 operas corresponds to materials that the authors would prefer to include in textbooks, but it is not in accordance with the curriculum. The purpose of the book is to explain the content to the reader, inform him about the meaning of the music and warn him about the most important places in a particular opera. That is why, before the content of the opera, a special commentary and more important information and explanations about each composer is given. In this edition too, there is an alphabetical list of composers, and within the presentation of the work of each of them, the works are listed in order of date of first performance.
