Nina George

Anyone who has read The Little Paris Bookstore by the German writer Nina George will know about her theory of healing with literature. If the right book is read at the right time, it can cure even the most difficult problems without needing either medicin

The literary pharmacist, Monsieur Perdu, will always prescribe the best medicine. And the best medicine for the greatest sufferings is the book Lights of the South, signed by the anonymous writer Sanary. This book should be read up to three pages a day. Until now, that book existed only in the head of the author Nina George, although many people searched for it on the shelves of bookstores and failed to find it. And then Nina George decided to write exactly that book of her imagination, which is now in front of us.

The Lights of the South is a poetic novel about love and the power of literature, about the alchemy of love, about bright and bitter types of love, about everything that confuses and delights us with the people we love or try to love. And this time we have the owner of a traveling bookstore, his name is Francis Meurienne, who has an unusual assistant, Marie-Jeanne, who can see love, literally, like all those hearts destined for each other. But what will she do with this ability and how can the magic of reading help her in this?

The novel Lights of the South is a real temptation for every demanding reader. It is only apparently a story about people from a Provençal place and their invisible connections. It is a poetic story about the possibility and impossibility of love, it is also a book of consolation and a book of fairy tales. It is both a love novel and a novel about human nature. He takes us on a walk through the Provençal landscape, where we meet people whose looks hide an unspoken longing and methods to deal with those longings.
