Spomen-park Kumrovec

Spomen-park Kumrovec

Svetolik Mitić

The Kumrovec Memorial House was built on a prominent elevation overlooking the entire region.

Kumrovec is also a place of pilgrimage where people visit Tito's birthplace (which has been turned into a museum) to learn more about his life and war exploits. In addition, the surrounding building and the area around Tito's birthplace have also been preserved and turned into an ethnographic tourist village. Kumrovec became not only a place of pilgrimage to learn about Tito's life, but efforts were also made to create cultural and educational centers that worked to promote socialist culture and political philosophy unique to Yugoslavia.
