Ararat

Ararat

Zilahy Lajos

Ararat is the first part of the saga of the Hungarian count family Dukaj, and its events span the historical periods of Europe from the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century

The main heroine of the novel is Zija, a countess and photographer. She is romantic, lonely and filled with longing for warmth and love. Her eyes are green like apples, and her favorite dress is also green. Zija is brave and determined, ready to do anything to keep love, even at the cost of loss and sacrifice.

This book is not only a fresco of historical events, but also a deep story about elegance, passion and pride, and the search for meaning in turbulent times.
