Od rituala do medija: mađarska drama na prijelazu tisućljeća

Od rituala do medija: mađarska drama na prijelazu tisućljeća

Peter P. Müller

System change in Hungary in 1989/90. did not change the theater structure, although the publishing structure was significantly transformed.

The media of contemporary drama, theater and publishing, have fallen into different systems of conditioning. One of the examples is the cessation of publication of the anthology entitled Rivalda, which was published every season in the eighties, bringing a selection of the best Hungarian dramas, and publishers were less and less accepting of publishing dramas. The medium of drama in printed form became almost exclusively the drama section of the monthly Szinhaz, and next to it, since 2001, the June issue of the literary and cultural magazine Jelenkor from Peč, which published a new contemporary piece every month. Apart from them, several literary magazines would occasionally publish some contemporary Hungarian drama.
