Zlatna knjiga kuharstva

Mira Vučetić

Mira Vučetić's cookbook is a true classic among Croatian cookbooks and a canonical work of Croatian gastronomy, according to which our mothers and grandmothers cooked their first dishes, and it was also widely used by professionals.

This is a traditional, classic and very thorough and precise cookbook that does not confuse us with ingredients that are not present in everyday cooking.

It is full of wonderful dishes that bring us back to the family table. The author presents an enviable knowledge of the ingredients themselves and the processes in the kitchen, and also deals with what is most precious in all of this: us – family, friends and guests – who gather around the table and thus give meaning to the food we enjoy together.

With careful explanations of the procedures for choosing and preparing ingredients, with almost a thousand and a half recipes, with menus for everyday meals for working people, but also for all kinds of special occasions, as well as with instructions on how to arrange the table when there are more women than men at it or vice versa, etc., this book is not only a cookbook, but also a real textbook of civic culture and an advisor on behavior in a wide variety of situations in the household and at the table.

And as the author herself says: “Cook with love and joy, and the desired success will not be lacking.”
